Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, a Turkish Trabzonspor player, has confirmed that despite many achievements during his professional career, he is still looking for new challenges that push him to keep giving and achieving more.

The Egyptian star explained that he knows very well that continuing to succeed requires constant motivation, saying: “I know that I cannot succeed without motivation, so I have always tried to find a new source of motivation for myself to be able to pursue my career. This is the reason why I am here now.”
Salah spoke about his years in the English Premier League and emphasized that it is a special feeling for a player to be appreciated by his rivals. He said: “It’s nice for a player to be appreciated by rivals. It’s a great feeling. I’m familiar with some of the big names you’ve mentioned and Steve (Steven Gerrard) is someone I speak to and see from time to time.”
Club president…password
Salah revealed that the ambition of Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan and the project he is trying to build at the club was one of the most prominent reasons that convinced him to join the team.
He added: “I came from a place in Liverpool where people loved me and always treated me with love and respect. What the president said to me about love and his assurance that I would find the same here stuck in my mind. I said to myself: yes, I want to see that.”
He continued: “But the most important thing for me was his real desire to achieve something with the team and win titles. That made me say: OK, this is the right decision.”
An impressive reception
Salah also touched on the huge public reception he received when he arrived in Trabzon, stressing that he did not expect such a reception.
He said: “I’m not usually an emotional person, but I was very affected by what happened at Trabzon airport. I never expected such a reception, on the pitch or at the airport. I don’t think there are many players who have enjoyed such a reception even before touching the ball.” He added: “I was very happy and emotionally affected.”
The Egyptian star also spoke about the reaction of his former colleagues to his reception in Turkey, saying: “I have spoken to everyone I know and I have also been contacted by some of my former colleagues at Liverpool. I am still in good contact with Dom (Dominic Subozlai).”
