The plot of “The Game of Hell”, from the series “The Complete Story”, brought back to the fore the case of the murder of the child Ahmed Mohammed Saad in Shubra Al-Khaimah, which was known in the media as the “Dark Web Case”.
Artist Mohamed Faraj portrays the character of “Sheikh Alaa”, a dramatic character inspired by the main accused in the real case, with some names and details changed to suit the dramatic treatment.
But away from the screen, the case files reveal the true story that began with a 29-year-old cafe worker and ended with him being sentenced to death after he was accused of murdering baby Ahmed Mohamed Saad, and a second defendant, who was a minor at the time of the incident, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
From cafe…ordinary life to crime

According to the case file, Tariq took advantage of his early knowledge of the child to bring him to the apartment where the incident took place after convincing him that he would give him a gift.
Financial and Internet Communications Crisis
The details of the case included an account of Tariq, who was facing a financial crisis and was trying to find sources of money in addition to using the Internet to communicate and communicate.
According to information released about the investigation, Tariq contacted people via the Internet, including a person he knew as “Abu Hamza”. He also talked about trying to sell his kidneys to get out of the financial crisis.
Leave the cafe and rent an apartment in Shubra El Khaimah
After an argument with the cafe owner, Tariq quit his job and later rented an apartment in the Shubra Al-Khaimah district, according to the case details.
During this period he continued to communicate with people on the internet, before establishing a relationship with the second accused, who was living in Kuwait at the time of the incident.
The second defendant enters the case
The second defendant was 15 years old at the time of the crime and was living in Kuwait and communicating with Tariq via the Internet.
According to the referral order, the second accused was charged with abetment, connivance and aiding and abetting, and Tariq with child murder. The case indicated that the crime took place in exchange for a sum of 5 million pounds.
Why was Ahmed chosen?
Ahmed knew Tariq at the cafe where he worked, which made it easy to trick him, according to the case file.
Prosecutors indicated that Tariq brought the child to his residence under the pretext of offering a gift before the crime took place.
The child takes the “gift” to the apartment
On April 15, 2024, according to the referral order, Tariq gave away the baby Ahmed in his apartment under the pretext of giving a gift.
The prosecution said that according to the case file, the accused prepared the tools to commit the crime and used medical drugs before killing the child, and there were other charges in the case related to the filming of the crime and the distribution of content through electronic platforms.
The disappearance of a child reveals a crime
After Ahmed’s disappearance, his family began to search for him, until the investigation turned up information that led the security services to the apartment that witnessed the incident.
The child’s body was found in the apartment, which turned the incident from a missing child report into a criminal case, during which the investigation established a connection between Tariq and the second accused through the Internet.
What did Tariq say in court?
At trial, Tariq denied murder, but admitted to lying to the child, saying his intention was to give her a gift, the trial said.
On the other hand, the prosecution submitted in the said order that the crime was the result of pre-arrangement and planning and relied on the evidence submitted to the court, evidence, testimony of the accused and witnesses and technical reports.
Death sentence for Tariq Anwar

With the showing of “Hell’s Game” the issue came back into the spotlight, but it is important to distinguish between drama and court facts. The character “Sheikh Alaa” played by Muhammad Faraj was inspired by Tariq Anwar, and the dramatization made changes to the names and some details.
The dramatic plot provides a treatment inspired by true crime, but it is not a direct retelling of the case documents or events, making reference to verdicts and investigation papers the basis for dealing with the true story.
