Mohammed bin Zayed welcomes UAE youth handball team after qualifying for World Cup
Today, Friday, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed, received the United Arab Emirates Youth Handball Team and members of the technical and administrative staff for the team’s qualification for the 2027 World Cup.
Mohammed bin Zayed congratulated the players, technical and administrative staff and fans of the national team on this achievement and expressed the wish that the qualification will be an additional incentive for the development of Emirati sports and its participation in various regional and international games and competitions.
He also congratulated the team for finishing second in the 19th edition of the Asian Youth Championship, after the level displayed by the players during the tournament and booking their ticket to the next World Cup.
The UAE president said the team’s achievements in the Asian and international arenas are a source of pride and appreciation for Emirati sports, appreciating the efforts of the players and the agencies that oversee their training and participation in competitions.
Sports are part of comprehensive development
Mohammed bin Zayed emphasized that Emirati sports continue the development and progress the country has witnessed in various areas of development, noting that it is an essential part of the comprehensive development system.
The team is being recruited to recognize the achievements of the players and to encourage them to continue their preparations for the 2027 World Cup and to represent the United Arab Emirates at the tournament.
The meeting was attended by members of the technical and administrative staff of the team, who contributed to the qualification of the players and to the second place in Asia and to the finals of the World Cup.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Surur Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.
Also present were the President of the Zayed Al Khair Foundation, Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Deputy Head of the Office of the President for Development Affairs and Martyrs’ Families Sheikh Nahmed Binhai bin Mohyan.
The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Presidential Adviser Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnun Al Nahyan, along with several Sheikhs, officials, guests and citizens.
