Vietnam has some of the best hotels in the world.
The expansion of the World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026 list to include the 100 best hotels underscores the organization’s commitment to honoring a broader range of exceptional hotel experiences. The list includes hotels in 23 regions and 40 cities, including 10 independent hotels, from 51 to 100.
Asia leads the list with 20 ranked hotels, including seven hotels in Japan such as Park Hyatt Tokyo (53rd place), The Mitsui Hotel in Kyoto (79th place) and Waldorf Astoria Osaka (89th place). The rating also includes two hotels in China: Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen (rating 90) and The Peninsula Shanghai (rating 99).
La Reserve Paris, France, tops the extended list at number 51, out of 16 European hotels honored. Italy dominates the European ranking with nine hotels. In addition, the United Kingdom had two hotels and Turkey had one. New York leads North America with three hotels, including the Fifth Avenue Hotel (78th) and the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles (65th)—a veritable “Hotel California” immortalized by its appearance on the cover of the Eagles’ best-selling 1976 album.
The only representative of this brand in Vietnam is the Capella Hanoi Hotel, an architectural masterpiece designed by architect Bill Bensley and the Sun Group. At 11 Le Phong Hoi Street, one of the most beautiful streets in Hanoi, the hotel is the first boutique hotel of the Sun Group, featuring a unique architectural design that combines Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, reviving a luxurious hotel frequented by famous artists and composers during the golden age of opera in the 1920s. This hotel is also the first hotel managed by the Capella brand in Vietnam.

All 47 of the hotel’s rooms bear the names of world-class actresses, singers and playwrights of the era, such as Sarah Bernard, Eleonora Ducey and Lina Cavalieri, or the names of famous operas such as Madame Butterfly, Turandeau and Scheherazade, which reflect this glorious past.
