He said Trump’s policies toward Muslims and other minorities reflect anger and prejudice, not reason and logic, and pointed to tensions stemming from Trump’s idea of building a wall on the southern border with Mexico between the two neighboring countries.
According to him, the measures taken by Trump against the refugees will not achieve the preservation of American security, but indicate xenophobia.
He added that Trump is right to use that description to describe Islamic jihadist terrorists, but there is no place to fight Islam, which is recognized by some 1.6 billion people.
He said that in time and without a fight, the flame of freedom in America will prove stronger than the darkness of Trump’s fear-filled chauvinism, because America cannot be America without the values it holds, and that America will fight to preserve those values.
