Trump: We monitor Iran’s nuclear facilities with cameras and know who goes in and out
Trump explained in an interview with the British “GB News” network that the monitoring includes the “Axe Mountain” site and three nuclear facilities in Iran, which were the targets of US attacks last year.
He said: “We have cameras monitoring all the main areas in the first three places and we also have cameras on Jabal Tsul. We know every person who comes in and out and can read the name.”
Trump reiterated his claim that the three nuclear sites had been “completely destroyed” but hinted at the possibility that Tehran has another site on “Axe Mountain,” adding that the United States knows what is going on there, amid uncertainty about the nature of the underground facility.
A few weeks before the possession of nuclear weapons
Again, the US president said that Iran was two to four weeks away from having nuclear weapons before US attacks, and emphasized that limiting Tehran’s ability to develop such weapons is the primary goal of US military moves.
He also credited his decision to withdraw from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal during his first term in office to help delay Tehran’s nuclear program.
He added that the target sites contained large quantities of nuclear materials that could be used in weapons production, claiming they were buried under millions of tons of rock, making access to them extremely difficult.
A blow to Iran’s capabilities
Trump emphasized that the US strikes were not limited to nuclear facilities, but also caused significant damage to Iran’s naval and air forces and command structure.
He referred to the latest US strikes, saying US forces had destroyed new Iranian radar sites and that Washington was now exerting “significant control” over the Strait of Hormuz, where large quantities of oil continue to flow through.
He noted that the United States targets dozens of ships a night, without providing further details about the nature of those operations or their results.
Trump believed Iran was facing a “fundamental dilemma” as a result of the military strikes and the deterioration of its economy, pointing to rising inflation and a collapse in the value of the Iranian currency.
He said Tehran may not be able to withstand further attacks for long, but at the same time he stressed the readiness of the United States to carry out additional strikes if necessary.
