After a competition that lasted for almost a month, contestants from many countries qualified for the final night of the 73rd Miss World Pageant – Miss World 2026, which was held on September 5 at April 2 Square in Nha Trang Beach, Khanh Hoa Province. The closing night was broadcast live on VTV8 – Vietnam Television and broadcast on 27 broadcast stations around the world, reaching almost 100 countries and regions.

The event was attended by the leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, People’s Congress, People’s Committee and Vietnam Motherland Front Committee; leaders from Lam Dong, Da Nang and Hai Phong provinces and cities; and many international guests. The organizing committee was represented by Mrs. Julia Morley, President and CEO of Miss World Pageant; the current Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand; and many former winners of the Miss World title.
Vietnam is hosting the prestigious Miss World pageant for the first time, as part of a series of events to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The competition brings together 111 contestants from different countries and regions and includes fascinating performances and competitions.

On the final night, the contestants graced the stage in four regions: America – Caribbean, Africa, Europe and Asia – Oceania, presenting performances called “Dances from Around the World”. Each contestant displayed beauty based on the traditions of their homeland, carried by the flag of the country they represent. Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, representing Vietnam, wore a costume called “The Sun Shines in the Sky,” which features a young woman from the northwest of the country performing a traditional spring dance of the Hmong people. He proudly waved the Vietnamese flag on stage to the cheers of the audience.
After the evening gown segment, the contestants appeared on stage in elegant “Ao Dai” costumes (traditional Vietnamese clothing) and were divided into four groups to select the top 40 contestants. After that, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc and 19 other contestants from the Cook Islands, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Peru, USA, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Senegal, Kenya, South Africa, France, Spain, Belgium, Gibraltar and Ukraine were selected. The closing night was interrupted by rain. Spectators wore raincoats and used umbrellas while waiting. When the show resumed, the top 12 teams were announced: Malaysia, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Dominica, Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, Zambia, France, Spain, Nigeria and Eritrea.
Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc continued to climb to the top six, along with five other contestants: Olivia Jane Spanowski (Australia), Tanusia Veerapandian (Malaysia), Johiri Mola (Dominican Republic), Elizabeth Raines Alaburn (Spain) and Romanda Visa Homby (South Africa). In the Q&A round, Bao Ngoc received a question from Karolina Bilawska, Miss World 2022: “Success today is often associated with wealth, status and professional achievements. However, everyone has their own point of view; how do we define success?” The Vietnamese actress answered that her success was determined by her parents and everyone who supported her in the competition.

“My parents are doctors and they instilled in me the value of dedication and self-sacrifice. I saw them spend countless nights in the emergency room trying to save lives. Even though I won’t follow in their footsteps and become a doctor, I will contribute in a different way. Ngo.




Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc was the best of the six contestants, while Julia Morley, President and CEO of Miss World, said Malaysia’s Tanusia Weerapandian won the first runner-up title; The second runner-up was Elizabeth Renes Alabern from Spain. Johiri Mola from the Dominican Republic became Miss World 2026.
The new Miss Universe, Johiri Mola Dominguez, 24, is a model, teacher and journalist. He runs the Voices of Tomorrow project, which enables underprivileged children and teenagers to learn English.

On the closing night, the Miss World 2026 jury awarded the titles of Miss America, Miss Caribbean, Miss Europe, Miss Africa, Miss Asia and Miss Oceania. Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the sub-competitions. Tanusia Veerapandian from Malaysia and brunette Manaka Makanyiso from Zimbabwe received the “Beauty with a Message” award.
The Miss World 2026 pageant was held from August 8 to September 5 in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Natrang provinces, with 111 contestants participating. The Miss World pageant was first held in 1951 and this edition celebrates its 75th anniversary. This is the sixty-third edition of the Miss World pageant.
Many Vietnamese beauties have already succeeded in the Miss World pageant. They include Tran Ngoc Lan Khui, who made it to the top 11 contestants list, Long Thuy Linh, who made it to the top 12 contestants list, Do Thi Ha, who made it to the top 13 contestants list, and Do My Linh, who made it to the top 40 list, who also won with the contestants.
