Marcus Hale

Marcus spent 22 years as a licensed general contractor in the Pacific Northwest, running renovation crews on everything from 900-square-foot bungalows to full historic-home restorations. He joined House Haven Guide as our home improvement lead in 2022.

He writes the guides we send to friends before their first renovation — the kind that explain what really happens when a wall comes down, where budget overruns come from, and which upgrades pay back at resale. He's a former board member of a regional builders' association and still holds an active contractor's license.
